March 10 - May 5, 2020 | AUDITORIUM THEATRE 2019-20 | 23 We Live the History: Celebrating the Auditorium’s 130th Birthday! On December 9, 2019, the Auditorium Theatre turned 130! For this milestone anniversary, the theatre opened its doors for an Open House event that featured tours, a scavenger hunt, ticket raffles, and other celebratory activities. Posters and pictures from the theatre’s extensive archives were also on display. Plus, what’s a birthday party without drinks and birthday cake? Guests who pre-registered for the Open House were treated to a free drink, and the fine folks from Eli’s Cheesecake made a beautiful Auditoruim-themed cheesecake. Auditorium Theatre CEO Rich Regan and Chicago’s Commissioner of the Department of Cultural A¤airs and Special Events Mark Kelly led a special birthday toast.
