He received honors in dance from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. During his undergraduate studies, he took part in the DanceJerusalem study abroad program and traveled to Jerusalem, Israel. At the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, Lovestrand was introduced to Gaga under the direction of Aya Israeli. He has trained with Shahar Biniamini, Noa Paran, Yaniv Abraham, Shani Garfinkle, and other luminaries in the field. Soon after his time at the Academy, he became a member of Kolben Contemporary Dance Company in Jerusalem. Recently, Lovestrand performed Danielle Agami’s choreography with Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre in Atlanta, GA. Jobel Medina , originally from the Philippines, is an active performer based in the Greater Los Angeles area. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from California State University, Long Beach. Medina has performed with Tino Sehgal, Kate Wallich, San Francisco Symphony, No One Art House, and Andrew Winghart. In the past, he has worked for Whyteberg, Acts of Matter, and Keith Jonson. He also appeared in music videos for Anderson Paak, Mac Miller, Noah Cyrus, and Watsky. This is Medina’s second season with Ate9. Genna Moroni graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) and magna cum laude from UCLA. In 2011, she met Barak Marshall while performing his work with BODYTRAFFIC. Since then, Moroni has been fortunate to work as Marshall’s choreographic assistant whenever possible. In June 2012, Moroni was invited to be a founding member of Danielle Agami’s Ate9 Dance Company. Lately, Moroni has been developing her own choreography for stage and film. She has enjoyed opportunities to perform and choreograph for musical artists such as Helado Negro, Jarina De Marco, and Francisca Valenzuela. In addition to choreography and performance, Moroni is also a certified Gaga teacher.  Alexander Quetell hails from Rochester, MI. He graduated with honors from Princeton University, where he studied dance, environmental studies, and German. Throughout college, he attended Springboard Danse Montréal under the direction of Alexandra Wells, ImPulsTanz Vienna, and Gaga Intensives in Tel Aviv and NYC. Quetell has acquired a range of repertoire, including works by Tom Weinberger, Kate Wallich, Maxine Doyle, Ohad Naharin, Michael Getman, Francesca Harper, Loni Landon, Malcolm Low, Stephen Petronio, Doug Varone, Jodie Gates, Pam Tanowitz, Fernando Melo, Yin Yue, and Elia Mrak. For the past year, he has lived in Seattle, WA, and performed with Colemxn Pester and Kate Wallich + the YC2. Montay Romero was born and raised in San Diego, CA, and has been an avid participant in the arts from a young age. Heavily involved in music, Romero sought further forms of self-expression while attending the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. After coincidentally stumbling into a dance studio on campus, he soon found himself actively seeking dance education, which he continued at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, where he received his BFA in dance. Romero, who was originally accepted to the school as a vocal major, changed his path upon arrival, choosing to honor the strong calling and deep connection he felt towards dance. Currently a resident of Los Angeles, CA, Romero is continually refining his relation to dance as an art form, a means of expression, and an opportunity to explore self. Claire You is a native of San Jose, CA, where she began Chinese folk dancing at age 4. She recently graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in dance and a minor in philosophy. You has supplemented her training at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Austria, and with workshops at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in the US, Beijing Dance Festival in China, and Deltebre Dansa Festival in Spain. She has had the privilege of working with and performing works by Anton Lachky, David Zambrano, Jeremy Nelson, MADBOOTSDANCE, Sonya Tayeh, Ronald K. Brown, and more.
