By popular demand, the Chicago Botanic Garden’s spooky-cool, pumpkin-filled event brings the magic for ten full nights this year. is is one of our most popular events, so get your tickets early for a true Hal- loween happening. Members receive early access to tickets from August 26 to September 2. Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns fea- tures more than 1,000 hand-carved pumpkins, some as large as 150 pounds, lit with LED lights along a Garden path. ere are pumpkins carved with gargoyles, pollinators, trains, and other surprises, and you can watch expert carvers work on their creations. Autumn at the Garden is beautiful, and the jack-o’-lanterns create a festive glow. Note how different everything looks at night as you follow the paved pathway that begins at the Esplanade and meanders through the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden and the Heritage Garden. e Model Railroad Garden: Landmarks of America is cel- ebrating its 20th anniversary, and it will be decorated for the season with special ghost trains. Start your Halloween early with fami- ly and friends, and make an evening out of it at the Garden. e Garden View Café will be open until 9:30 p.m., and seasonal fare and drinks will be available on the Esplanade and at the Regenstein Fruit &Vegetable Gar- den. e Garden Shop also stays open late during the event. Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns When: Wednesdays through Sundays, October 16 – 20 and October 23 – 27, 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. (last ticket sold at 9:30 p.m., last entry at 10 p.m.) The Garden will close at 5 p.m. and will reopen for ticketed guests only at 6 p.m. Tickets: Advance adult tickets are $16; advance tickets for children ages 3 to 12 are $13. Day-of tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for children. Members receive a $2 discount on each ticket. Children 2 and under are free. Members also receive early access to tickets from August 26 to September 2. Tickets will be available to the public beginning September 3. Advance parking is available online.
