Shopping The Garden Shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, with the following exceptions: closed at 3 p.m. on November 28; closed at 3 p.m. for the Lightscape event, reopening for ticket holders only on November 22 to 24, November 29 to December 1, December 4 to 8, December 11 to 15, December 18 to 23, and December 26 to January 5; closed at 3 p.m. on December 24; closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Reference The Plant Information Service is open from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday to Friday (closed holidays); the phone hotline is available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday. Lightscape is an enchanting, fun-for-all ages holiday event created just for the Chicago Botanic Garden. Be among the first to see the U.S. debut of this experience, created by a production company direct from London. You’ll walk an after-dark, illuminated trail transformed by immersive experiences and installations by international artists. Fee applies. Book early to ensure your preferred time and date. Generously supported by ComEd and NorthShore University HealthSystem, with additional support from UL November highlights Through January 12, 2020 Rare Book Exhibition: Bartram’s Garden: In Words and Wood This exhibition features handcrafted artisanal boxes and objects, made from the wood of fallen trees at Bartram’s Garden, in combination with original poetry. John Bartram (1699-1777) was America’s first American botanist. Warm up by a fire after- ward. If there is deep snow, the walk will take place in the area next to the woods; check chicagobotanic. org for last-minute weather updates.
