What will you find at Lightscape, the enchanting, after-dark, illuminated trail created just for the Chicago Botanic Garden? The mile-long path is an immersive experience that explores all of your senses, with moments of bold colors, quiet reflection, even whimsy. Best of all, Lightscape is meant to be shared with family and friends. Unleash your inner sparkle at Lightscape. Here’s just some of what you will discover: Lightscape When: Select dates, November 22, 2019 – January 5, 2020 Hours: 4:30 – 10 p.m.; last entry at 8 p.m. Each day, the Garden will close at 3 p.m. and reopen for ticketed guests only at 4 p.m. chicagobotanic.org/lightscape Can’t-miss light experiences, created by international artists Cathedral of Light —A towering cathedral-window arch draws visitors along a magnificent 110- foot tunnel of light. Fire Garden —Simple, festive, fire-filled sculptures gently glim- mer, creating an area of contem- plation. Singing Trees —Festooned with more than a half-mile of LED lights, ten large trees perform as a choir in harmony and light up individually as they sing a holiday favorite. Feast of Light —This large, im- mersive, walk-through experi- ence uses suspended strands of light to create feelings of pres- ence and movement. Field of Light —A six-minute finale fills the Esplanade with thousands of points of light that dance their way to music in mul- tiple patterns and colors. Chicago Botanic Garden favorites reimagined See how blooming crabapples, colorful tulips, and a rushing waterfall come to life in lights. Seasonal food and drink Toast marshmallows, sip hot chocolate or cider, get your egg- nog fix, and more at stations throughout the trail.
