We love autumn at the Garden, and this year, we’re still excited about our fall events. But with so many uncertainties as the COVID-19 health crisis continues to evolve, we’ve turned our events calendar into a resource guide to help you better plan your visit. Calendar chicagobotanic.org/calendar 8 chicagobotanic.org Fall Bulb Festival Fall 2020 Fall Bulb Festival October 9 – 11 Plant a bulb in the ground. Wait. Wait a little longer (this is Chica- go, after all). With the right bulb, the right weather conditions, and a little luck, you will be rewarded next spring. Watching early bulbs poke out of the soil after a long winter brings a particular joy. That’s where the Fall Bulb Festival and annual bulb sale comes in. Select from a wide variety of specialty bulbs, tulips, daffodils, alliums, and more at the annual bulb sale, presented by the Woman’s Board of the Chicago Horticultural Society. New this year, online preordering is available for the entire catalog through October 3. Members receive 15 percent off all preorders. Curbside pickup will be available throughout the weekend of the festival for those who preordered. Members get first access to the on-site bulb sale, on Friday, October 9. The bulb sale continues on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, as part of the Fall Bulb Festival. The weekend will also fea- ture the colorful, seasonal gourd display and a fall market on the Esplanade. To accommodate social distancing, the bulb sale’s footprint will expand to multiple areas in the Regenstein Cen- ter, with a limited number of shoppers admitted at a time. Fall Bulb Festival When: Members-only bulb sale, Fri- day, October 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; bulb sale and festival, Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while supplies last. New! All bulbs for sale in advance Through October 3, choose bulbs from the entire catalog at chicagobotanic. org/bulb. Members receive 15 percent off all preorders.
