Tending to the Garden during the COVID-19 health crisis For the safety of all, the Chicago Botanic Garden closed on March 17 because of the COVID-19 health crisis. That meant a new way of working at the Garden. At the Joseph Regenstein, Jr. School of the Chicago Botanic Garden, youth and adult education staff began a series of online classes. When members and visitors could not visit the Garden, the marketing and communications team brought spring to them through social channels, email, and our website. And more. What remained the same is our belief in the power of plants and in the respite that nature provides, especially in times of crisis.
