Chicago Botanic Garden Fall 2020

One of our most popular events is back: Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns will be ten nights filled with frightful fun and intricately carved, lighted pumpkins. We’re doing things a little differently this year, with your safety in mind. There will be timed entries for ticket holders, as we have in the past. This year, we also will limit capacity, extend the route length, and make the path one way with a separate entrance and exit. Face coverings are required for those over the age of 2 who are medi- cally able. More than 1,000 hand-carved real pumpkins, some as large as 150 pounds, will be aglow with LED lights along a spooktacular Garden path. Feast your eyes on ghoulish gourds decorated in the style of Día de los Muertos, horror favorites, and more. This year, we’ll feature a special tribute to the doctors, teachers, frontline workers, and other heroes of the COVID-19 health crisis. Autumn is a favorite season at the Garden and the bright glow of the jack-o’-lanterns makes it extra special. Make your way along the paved path while enjoying festive costumed enter- tainers. You can also get a firsthand look at expert carvers crafting original designs. Get a head start on your Halloween celebrations with family and friends with a festive night out. Seasonal fare and drinks will be available for pur- chase along the route.
