Books & Cooks Does your child love to help out in the kitchen? Bring your little chef for stories, songs, games and cooking. This caregiver-and-child program for children ages 3 – 5 is a fun way to get children eating fruits and veggies. Family Gardeners Ages 6 – 10 with an adult Learn to start your own garden in this four-class series. Garden experts teach you to plan your garden, select the right plants, start your seeds, and prepare a garden plot. You will get a behind- the-scenes tour of our Robert F. Finke Production Greenhouses, earn a junior gardener certificate, and take home ten plants for your new garden. $96/$120 per child | Learning Campus Sundays: 3/1, 4/5, 5/3, 6/7 10 – 11:30 a.m. Weekend Family Classes Together, adults and children ages 4 to 10 learn how plants connect to science, food, history, and culture. Each workshop includes a variety of hands-on activities and kitchen exploration (tasting, too!), as well as opportunities to bring the Garden home. $19/$24 per child | ITW Kitchen, Learning Center 9:30 – 11 a.m. or 1 – 2:30 p.m. Pizza Party Sunday, March 8, or Saturday, March 21 Homemade Granola Saturday, March 28 Family Campouts Experience the Regenstein Learning Campus the way few families can—by sleeping over. Enjoy a low-stress camping experience with flushing toilets and running water. Families can choose between sleeping outside (bringing your own camping gear, the Garden has no gear to lend) or sleeping inside the building. Please plan to spend the night as the Garden is unable to accommodate evening-only participants. Activities are suitable for participants ages 5 and up. $60/$75 per person | Learning Center July 18 or August 1 5 p.m. Saturday – 8 a.m. Sunday Call the program coordinator directly at (847) 835-8239 with questions or register online for the campout. Nature Nights Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy some quality family time at the Garden. Children ages 4 – 10 and their families will explore different areas of the Garden and enjoy a variety of outdoor, discovery-based activities. Each Nature Nights includes a tram ride, a planting project, and s’mores around the campfire. Birthday Parties Celebrate your child’s birthday with a garden-themed party held at our inspiring Regenstein Learning Campus. All parties include free parking for you and your guests and allow use of a reserved indoor space in the Learning Center for 90 minutes. Project Parties and Pizza Parties, for children turning 4 and up, also include educational, hands-on activities led by Garden staff. Parties can be scheduled year-round on Saturday or Sunday mornings or afternoons. Garden Plus membership required.
