THE CHICAGO PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY | SPRING 2019 19 2018 2019 SEASON: AT CITY WINERY Erika Shrauger , clarinet , is an active orchestral and chamber musician based in the Tampa Bay Area, currently performing with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She is Assistant Principal Clarinetist of e Florida Orchestra and also a member of e Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, she has performed as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Bu alo Philharmonic, and Florida Orchestra, and as a guest with numerous orchestras throughout the state of Florida. She is a member of ReUnion Chamber Players, and enjoys a wide range of chamber music activities in both Florida and New Mexico. Kathleen Brauer , violin , made her solo debut with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra at the age of 15. She holds degrees in violin performance from the University of Michigan and Yale University. Ms. Brauer has performed with numerous ensembles, including the Chicago Philharmonic, Rembrandt Chamber Players, Ensemble Modern, Fulcrum Point New Music Project, and Pintele Piano Trio. She has performed in the Aspen, Norfolk, Bowdoin, Hampden-Sydney, Santa Fe Chamber Music, and Kolkata International music festivals. Ms. Brauer is an assistant concertmaster of Music of the Baroque and has been a featured soloist in several recent seasons. She is a member of the rst violin sections of Lyric Opera of Chicago and e Santa Fe Opera. Mark Brandfonbrener , cello , is a member of the orchestras of Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Santa Fe Opera. A graduate of the Juilliard School and the University of Michigan, he is an active chamber musician, performing as a member of Music of the Baroque, Fulcrum Point New Music Project, and the Pintele Piano Trio as well as with Chicago Philharmonic. A former member of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, he performs frequently with the Chicago Symphony, Chicago Chamber Musicians and Bach Week in Evanston. He has been a guest at many music festivals including Aspen, Montepulciano, and Gstaad. His cello is a 1710 Paolo Testore. Lori Kaufman , piano, has performed throughout the US, Canada, and in France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, the UK, and Singapore. She has lived in Paris and Singapore, where she was on the faculty of the Lasalle School of the Arts and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. Her students have performing and teaching careers throughout Europe and Asia. In Chicago, she has performed as a concerto soloist with Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra, Highland Park Strings, Fulcrum Point, and in chamber music concerts on Northwestern's Winter Chamber Music Festival, with Chicago Chamber Musicians, and with members of the CSO and Lyric Opera Orchestra. She currently lives in Chicago with her husband and three children, a young double bassist, a cellist/ visual artist, and a harpist.
