CHAMBER PLAYERS AT CITY WINERY THE CHICAGO PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY | FALL 2019 21 Matthew Lee, trumpet, is an active freelance musician in the Chicago area. In addition to his duties as principal trumpet of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, he performs with the Chicago Philharmonic, Chicago Sinfonietta, Tower Brass, Millar Brass Ensemble, and Chicago Brass Quintet. He frequently performs as an extra and substitute with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. As a soloist, Lee has performed with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. He was the winner of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago concerto competition and performed the Concerto in D by G.P. Telemann. Lee teaches at the DePaul University School of Music and Elmhurst College. He holds degrees from Northwestern University and Western Illinois University. David Inmon, trumpet, is a musician member of the Chicago Philharmonic and plays frequently with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera Orchestra. He is principal trumpet of the Lake Forest Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber artist, he is a member of the Millar Brass Ensemble and Tower Brass of Chicago and can be heard on many of their recordings. He also performs with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Symphony Orchestra, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Sinfonietta, and Fulcrum Point New Music Project. He has accompanied a wide variety of artists such as Celine Dion, Josh Groban, e Beach Boys, Sarah McLachlan, Diana Ross, Amy Grant, Art Garfunkel, Andrea Bocelli, Bernadette Peters, Dave Brubeck, and Doc Severinsen. Inmon holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a specialization in Performance from Northwestern University. Gregory Flint, horn, is associate professor of horn at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and co-director of the Chamber Music Milwaukee concert series. As a performer, he is a musician member of the Chicago Philharmonic and the Santa Fe Opera orchestra, and principal horn with the Elgin Symphony, the Chicago Jazz Orchestra, Present Music of Milwaukee, and the Fulcrum Point New Music Project. He o en performs with the Milwaukee Symphony, and has also appeared with the Chicago Symphony, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Honolulu Symphony, the Florida Orchestra, and the Ravinia Festival Orchestra. A busy chamber musician, Flint is a founding member of the critically acclaimed Asbury Brass Quintet, hornist with the Tower Brass of Chicago, and has also toured regularly with the Prairie Winds and the Chicago Brass Quintet. Reed Capshaw, trombone, is a musician member of the Chicago Philharmonic and currently holds the position of Principal Trombone of the Elgin Symphony, Lake Forest Symphony, and South Bend Symphony. He is an alumnus of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. He has performed with the Chicago Symphony and toured with the Cleveland Orchestra. While in Chicago, he frequently performs with many of the great area ensembles, including Lyric Opera Orchestra and Grant Park Symphony Orchestra. In 2011, Reed performed the Milhaud Concertino D’Hiver with the South Bend Symphony. He has also been a soloist with the Naperville Community Band. He is a member of e Chicago Trombone Consort, ird Coast Brass Quintet, and Tower Brass of Chicago. He is currently an Artist-Teacher at Roosevelt University and teaches trombone at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Charles Schuchat, tuba, is a musician member of the Chicago Philharmonic, and he has performed and recorded with the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, and Israel Philharmonic. In addition to Tower Brass, Charles is a member of the award-winning Asbury Brass Quintet. He has participated in numerous music festivals including Spoleto Festival, Ravinia Festival, and Tanglewood Music Festival. While at Tanglewood he received the CD Jackson Award for Achievement. He is currently a faculty member at both Northern Illinois and Roosevelt Universities. Charles is a native of Washington, DC and is a graduate of Northwestern University where he studied with Arnold Jacobs.
