Citadel Theatre 2018-2019 The Little Foxes
Biographies 10 Director’s Note Sometimes, being bad can be quite a bit of fun. That’s why, after all, watching this family steeped in deception and greed, has been a favorite of audiences over the years. The Little Foxes has moved from stage to screen, back to countless stages, with many a familiar face picking up the role of Regina, the memorably evil matriarch of the household, trapped in her time and attempting to bend it to her will. It can be quite entertaining to watch someone with questionable morals bend a broken system to their will. After all, wasn’t it already corrupt? Southern aristocracy loses its romantic sheen when you remember it was built on slavery. The Hubbards may be greedy, but they are industrious, quite clever, always thinking of the next step. Such forward-thinking could almost be praised. These aren’t evil people. They aren’t good people. They’re people, so...they are both. Thank you for coming to watch some people live their lives. Thank you for supporting the magic of live theatre, the thrill of watching a Southern drama play out. I’ll leave you, with just a few questions: • When change must occur, at what point does the cost of moving forward stop you? • When the revolution comes, will you think of yourself first? • At what point does watching corruption stop feeling like entertainment? • How long will you just stand around and watch? – Kristina McCloskey Director, The Little Foxes Terrie Lynne Hudson (Addie) is an actor, improviser, performance artist and disability activist living and working in Chicago. As an actress, she has most recently performed with Chicago Dramatists’ Saturday Series and in the Sketchtopia staged reading put on by Artistic Development Workshop. William Anthony Sebastian Rose II (Cal) is freshly transplanted from Champaign, IL. theater circuit to the Chicagoland area with this being his very first show. He is more than thrilled to be a part of this production and for the opportunity to work with this company and all of its talented members. His last production was The Foreigner , in the role of Charlie Barker at the Station Theater in Urbana IL. I don’t have much to say, but I look forward to making magic and memories. Enjoy the show!
