Citadel Theatre 2018-2019 The Little Foxes

6 Citadel seeks to provide both a creative haven for passionate and visionary: directors, writers, actors and designers; as well as a home for audiences that seek to experience the emotional and intellectual richness that quality theatre inspires. Citadel Theatre founded in 2002 by a group of actors that felt that the Community of Lake Forest deserved to experience professional theatre in their community. Citadel Theatre was conceived in the basement of Lake Forest’s Gorton Community Center as an alternative to Chicago theatre. Over the last 15 years Citadel has blossomed into a thriving, yet intimate company that is beloved by the Community of Lake County. Now in our 16 th season, Citadel Theatre has produced hundreds of plays across our Main Stage , Education , and On Tour programs. Citadel is proud to thrive as a top destination for professional theatre in Lake County. Citadel Theatre’s Main Stage host an eclectic mix of comedies, tragedies, musicals and straight plays. The Main Stage is housed in our 144-seat theatre at 300 S. Waukegan Rd. Citadel Theatre Education was founded as a fun summer acting camp run by our Main Stage talent. Today Citadel Theatre Education is still fun, and still taught in the conservatory-style by professional actors - but now offers year-round performance and acting classes to children across a wide range of theatrical disciplines. Citadel Theatre’s On Tour program brings our performances to audiences outside our theatre building. Our outdoor summer series of plays staged at parks and natural areas has proved popular and our efforts to bring theatre to senior citizens and through page-to-stage productions for school classes have served to increase accessibility of this art form. Cheers to our sweet 16 th season!
