Saturdays & Sundays • 3 pm Small Serendipity Join us for a nature story and craft or other activity. Ages 3–6 with an adult. Wednesdays, Dec 4 & 18, Jan 8 & 22, Feb 5 & 19 • 10 am Winter Walks* A winter hike through the woods. If there is a base of 4” snow on snowshoes with a short lesson. Limited number of snowshoes available; registration required at least 3 days prior to reserve snowshoes. 1:30–2:30 pm if no snow. 1–2:45 pm if there is a base of 4” Sundays, Dec 15, Jan 12 & Feb 9 Restoration Workdays* Improve native wildlife habitat by learning about and removing invasive species. Ages 10 & up; children under 15 with an adult. Saturdays, Dec 14, Jan 11, Feb 15 10 am–Noon 3120 Milwaukee Ave, Northbrook, 847-824-8360 Building: 9 am–4 pm, closed Fridays. Grounds: 8 am–4 pm daily, Free Admission Building and Grounds closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day Celebrate the arrival of spring with a special day of activities including crafts, games, tree tapping and maple syrup history. Sunday, Mar 15 • 11 am–3 pm 48th Annual Maple Syrup Festival EVENING PROGRAMS Experience River Trail in the evening. $3/person (must register in advance) check in 15 minutes before the program start time. Night Owls* An extended guided hike on our trails to search for local owls. Ages 14 & up. Friday, Dec 13 • 7 pm Winter Night Hike * Use your senses on an exploratory guided hike. Friday, Jan 24 • 7 pm Not Your Typical Paint Night* A large tree slice is your canvas in this guided workshop. Materials provided. $20/person. Ages 21 & up. Register by 1/24. Friday, Jan 31 • 7 pm Sweetheart Night Hike* Enjoy candlelit trails, a campfire, dinner and drinks. Ages 21 & up. $20/person. Register by 2/1. Saturday, Feb 8 • 6–9 pm 20
