Forest Preserves of Cook County 2019 Winter Brochure
Energy Saving Tips The Forest Preserves of Cook County committed to a Sustainability and Climate Resiliency Plan in 2018. We are working to reduce emissions and ensure our native landscapes thrive. There are many ways you too can take simple steps to be more sustainable this winter. Be prepared for colder weather by throwing on a sweater instead of turning up the heat! Bring an extra sweater, throw or scarf to work. Use space heaters only when truly needed. Turn off space heaters and unplug phone chargers and computers when not in use. You can help the Forest Preserves and the planet at home and at work this winter. Tape clear plastic over the inside of your window frames to reduce heating bills and save energy. Open curtains to allow sun in to heat the room. 22
