Friday, Sept 23 • 7 pm Birds of Prey Meet one of our raptors and learn what makes these winged hunters so unique. Sunday, Sept 25 • 1:30 pm OCTOBER Not Your Typical Pumpkin Party* Why should the kids have all the fun? An adults-only pumpkin carving night. $25/person. Materials provided. Registration and payment required by 9/24. No refunds. Ages 21 & up. Saturday, Oct 1 • 7 pm Honey Bites -Virtual Join us virtually as we sample and discuss some of the bene ts of local wild ower honey. Ages 8 & up. Thursday, Oct 6 •12 pm, RTNC Facebook Live Fall Photography* Enjoy a guided walk to view and photograph seasonal nature. For all levels and camera types. Registration required by 10/5. Ages 13 & up. Saturday, Oct 8 • 10 am Fall Walk* View spectacular fall colors while enjoying a casual walk in the woods. Sunday & Monday, Oct 9 & 10 • 10:30 am or 1:30 pm Creatures of the Night Experience some creepy, spooky and nocturnal animals of the Forest Preserves. Sunday, Oct 23 • 1:30 pm The Return of Scary Stories* River Trail’s annual scary storytelling around the camp re and spooky night walk. $3/person. Registration required by 10/26. Ages 6 & up. Saturday, Oct 29 • 8 pm The Un-haunted Forest* Come in costume for a magical walk through the forest. $3/child. Registration required by 10/27. Sunday, Oct 30 • 10:30 am or 1:30 pm NOVEMBER GPS Scavenger Hunt* Learn about and participate in a technology- inspired scavenger hunt. Limited spaces; call to reserve an hourly time slot at 11 am, 12:30 pm, or 2 pm. Sunday, Nov 6 • 11 am, 12:30 pm or 2 pm Changing Seasons Learn how local nature adjusts to the changing seasons and prepares for winter. Sunday, Nov 13 • 1:30 pm Owl Prowl* A guided walk on our trail to search for local owls. Registration required by 11/15. Ages 8 & up.
