Group 1, Children entering grades 1, 2 & 3 Group 2, Children entering grades 4, 5 & 6 June 20–24 • 8:30 am–12:30 pm Fee: $25/child Summer Solstice Celebration* Celebrate midsummer through a guided walk as you learn about its significance culturally and ecologically. Tuesday, June 21 • 7pm–8:30 pm THROUGHOUT the SUMMER Live Healthy, Discover Nature! Hike* Venture out on our scenic trails for a 3-to 4-mile hike led by our nature education staff. Saturdays, June 4, July 2, Aug 6 • 2 pm Meet Our Birds Take a closer look at Sand Ridge Nature Center’s birds. Learn more about our flighted ambassador animals and discover their unique adaptations. Sundays, June 12, July 10, Aug 14 • 1:30 pm Nature in Spanish Meet-Up* Expand your Spanish vocabulary and practice your speaking skills exploring various nature topics. Experienced speakers welcome. Thursdays, June 30, July 28, Aug 25 5:30–6:30 pm Wee Wonders* Preschoolers with an adult are invited to learn about nature through music, movement, stories and artmaking. Wednesdays, June 8, July 13, Aug 10 • 10 am Juneteenth Celebration Celebrate freedom, family and country with various activities, presentations, performances and exhibits highlighting Black history, arts and culture.
