Please note: Crabtree Nature Center’s exhibit building is undergoing construction and will be closed throughout the season. Trails remain open. All programs listed will be outdoors. Port-o-lets are available until renovations are complete. Please call for updates. THROUGHOUT the SEASON Explore Nature Play Build forts and climb a spider web as you explore Crabtree’s 3-acre nature play area. Open Every Day Woodcock Walks* Learn about the American woodcock and take a walk to observe the male woodcock spiraling upward in the darkening sky then tumbling down. Ages 7 & up. Fridays, Mar 24 & Apr 7 • 7 pm Frog Calls* Learn about frogs and why they call, then go on a hike to identify different species based on their evening ballads. Thursday, Apr 13 • 7:30 pm Friday, May 19 • 8 pm MARCH Spring Stroll Search for the rst signs of spring on a naturalist-led walk. Sunday, Mar 5 • 1 pm Crabtree History Hike Experience a walk through time together as we discuss the early days of Crabtree Nature Center and what came before. Ages 12 & up. Saturday, Mar 11 • 1 pm Teen Exploration Day: Waterfowl Watch Calling all teenage bird-lovers! Borrow binoculars and dive deeper into observing and getting to know the ducks and geese that visit Crabtree. Ages 13–17 w/adult. Saturday, Mar 18 • 10 am–Noon Muddy Paws Muddy spring means muddy trails and lots of animal tracks. Search for and identify what animals are using the trails right along with us on this walk. Sunday, Mar 26 • 1 pm APRIL Radio Telemetry Learn about radio telemetry and how it’s used to track animals. Try your hand at using radio telemetry equipment. Sunday, Apr 2 • 1 pm Prime Real Estate See why and how we provide cavity nesting birds with accommodations. Then stay to see the tree swallows compete.
