MARCH Forest Therapy* Awaken your senses and renew your bond with the nature. Ages 18 & up. Thursday, Mar 7 • 11 am–1 pm Prehistoric Play Day Learn about the amazing world of Ice Age Illinois with family-oriented games and activities. Ages 5 & up. Saturday, Mar 9 • 11 am–1 pm Volunteer Resource Center, 6100 N Central, Chicago Spring Eggstravaganza -Drop-in Celebrate the changing season and learn about Cook County’s wildlife through crafts, themed walks, refreshments and more. Saturday, Mar 23 • 1–3 pm Spring Breakout Adventures -Drop-in Try a variety of outdoor recreation activities while spending school break in nature. Thursday, Mar 28 • 10 am–1 pm APRIL Nature Workshop: Embroidery* Learn of the native plants while developing basic embroidery skills. Supplies provided. Thursday, Apr 11 • 6–8 pm Volunteer Resource Center, 6100 N Central, Chicago Family Bird Walk* Start with a DIY binoculars craft then try it out while on a guided bird walk. Thursday, Apr 18 • 9:30 am–11:30 am Erickson Woods, Willow Rd, east of I-94/Edens Expy, Winnetka Poetry in the Forest: A Forest Therapy Walk* Join us for poetry in motion as we explore the forest through our senses. Participants will receive a journal and poetry by Mary Oliver. We will end the walk with a tea ceremony and poetry reading.
