Ages 3 & up w/adult. Sunday, Jun 2 • 11 am–Noon Solstice & Cicada Walk The time has finally come to celebrate the emergence of the 17-year cicadas! Join us on the summer solstice as we walk and talk about these weird and fantastic insects while a librarian from the LaGrange Park library recites a folktale. Thursday, Jun 20 • 7:30 pm Forest Photography Use your camera to observe nature on a guided photography walk. All levels and camera types. Ages 13 & up. Saturday, Jun 22 • 2 pm Ophidiophobia Are you afraid of snakes? Overcome your phobia by gaining a healthy understanding of these misunderstood reptiles. Saturday, Jun 29 • 2 pm Fossil Fun Become an amateur paleontologist and learn how to discover fossils in your own backyard while learning about the past. Ages 6 & up. Sunday, Jul 7 • 10 am Bats Under a Dark Sky Wonder what species of bats live in our area? Using bat monitors, we will seek out these flying mammals while enjoying an evening walk in the largest Urban Night Sky Place. Monday, Jul 8 • 8 pm Flickering Fireflies Discover why fireflies glow in the dark before setting out on a 1-mile adventure where we will catch and release these incredible creatures. Sunday, Jul 14 • 8:30 pm Turtles Learn about turtles through hands- on discovery. Saturday, Jul 27 • 1:30 pm Cicadas: Teen Exploration Day Teens will explore the world of the cicadas. Ages 13 & up. Sunday, Aug 4 • 1:30 pm Night Sky Walk Enjoy an evening walk in the largest Urban Night Sky Place in the world. Wednesday, Aug 7 • 8:45 pm Raptors Learn about birds of prey and how staff care for our ambassador raptors.
