FEBRUARY Black History Month Kickoff –Drop-in Enjoy a short viewing of Baratunde Thurston’s—an American writer and conservationist—award-winning PBS series America Outdoors. Snacks provided. Saturday, Feb 1 • 11 am–1 pm Thankful for the Dark Learn why light pollution is harmful to people and wildlife while enjoying a hike in the largest Urban Night Sky Place. Wednesday, Feb 5 • 6–7:30 pm Seasonal Impressions Create vibrant nature-inspired art using natural materials found during the different seasons. Saturday, Feb 15 • 1–3 pm Black History Month Collaboration Hike Celebrate this special month by joining a bird hike co-led by Outdoor Afros, followed with a snack by a warm fire. Saturday, Feb 22 • 1:30–3:30 pm Yoga Enjoy an all-levels yoga class indoors with a certified instructor. Ages 18 & up. Sundays, Feb 23 • 10–11 am Night Owl Come walk the trails during a new moon as we look and listen for owls at night Thursday, Feb 25 • 6 pm Winter Ecology Join us around the fire under a full moon for a discussion about the important role that winter plays in the survival of plants and animals. Sunday, Dec 15 • 5 pm Winter Solstice Celebration Celebrate the longest night of the year with a bonfire and self-guided walk along our Farm Pond Trail. S’mores and hot cocoa provided. Saturday, Dec 21 • 5–7 pm Winter Bird Watch Walk to discover which birds are winter residents and then get warm by a cozy fire. Hot cocoa provided. Ages 14 & up.
