Free admission for all those covered under active Museum memberships; guests may be asked to pay regular admission rates. Mon, Oct 14: Columbus Day The Museum will observe extended Monday hours until 5 p.m. Tue, Oct 15, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.: How the King of Birds Was Chosen Children’s Theatre Performance Join us for a free children’s theatre performance of the story of the quetzal bird. A long time ago in Mexico the birds needed a king to help keep the peace, but who could it be? Who could handle that much responsibility? Who had the right plumage? Find out in this interactive Mayan legend performed by our very own professional storyteller, Vito Gioia! Chaired by Women’s Board members Sonia Esler and Grith Funk and Board of BABY AND ME TIME (every Monday 9:30 - 11 a.m.) We know that life with an infant is a big change. That’s why we have created this free group for new parents to meet others and talk about adjusting to parenthood. Join us to: • Talk about your concerns, share your experiences • Meet other parents who are up all night too • Share your biggest accomplishments • Share, learn, and laugh with others just like you A nurse representative from our partners at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital will also be on hand to answer questions and facilitate discussions on early childhood development and parenting topics. This meet-up group is free for parents and infants; however, regular Museum admission prices will apply for access to the Museum exhibits with additional children.
