6 WELCOME Dear Friends, For more than 30 years, Kohl Children’s Museum has been using play to inspire a love of learning in young children. We are committed to making Kohl Children’s Museum a leader in providing playful experiences that inspire every child. We care deeply about investing in the future of all children, and providing opportunities for play that engage and welcome children of all backgrounds. Every child deserves the right to play and learn and secure a brighter future, regardless of socio-economic status, family make-up, cultural background, or level of physical, cognitive, or social-emotional ability. We understand the complexities of serving children in at-risk communities, and we pledge to support those communities with our proven methodology of engaging children in self-directed, educational play. Together, we can improve each child’s future. Now, we’re looking to grow our own future. Last fall, we announced the Museum’s Play It Forward campaign with a total goal of $15 million. Our challenge lies in creating greater access to play—within our walls and beyond. With this campaign, we plan to: • update our current building • expand our space and offerings • extend our access and inclusion • sustain our quality and operations • secure our financial future We hope you will consider supporting the campaign so we can harness the power of play for the next generation.
