Kohl Children's Musuem Guide 2019 Winter
42 It’s time to let your inner actor out with Theatre Games . Through a variety of creative dramatic exercises, we will explore gross and fine motor skills, problem solving, listening and speaking skills, following directions, and building confidence. Theater Games takes place Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. Theatre programming has been underwritten in part by the Elizabeth Morse Charitable Trust. Jan 2 & 9: Jello Circle Elephant! Palm Tree! Rock Band! Jello! We can become anything we want (with a little help from our neighbors and some wiggling.) But you’ll have to think fast before you transform into something else. Jan 16, 23, & 30: Make A Machine Let’s build a machine. One that can cook dinosaur eggs, build rocket ships, or make robot turtles. Be the gears, the whistles, the beeps, and the boops as we work together to construct our marvelous machine! Feb 6 & 13: Telephone How well can we listen? Can we pass a phrase around the circle? What about an action? See how what we say and do can change as it goes from person to person in this fun theatre game. Feb 20 & 27 : Imagination Station When is a banana not a banana? When it’s a boomerang! Or a baby! Or a boomerang baby! We’ll use our imagination to turn items into all sorts of weird and wonderful objects. Mar 5 & 12: Storytime??? Are you ready for a story? Good! What is it? That’s right, YOU’RE telling US the story. Go around a circle and tell us about the Elephant named Jeff who becomes the race car driver or Princess Sally, the first baby to play for the Chicago Bulls. Help us make a story that we can all share. Mar 19 & 26: Half a Play Oh no! I was supposed to write a play for Theatre Games and I totally forgot! Can you help me fill in the blanks and then perform what we come up with? THEATRE GAMES
