5 | Lyric Opera of Chicago Dietrich Gross (1933-2024) Lyric Opera of Chicago dedicates these performances of Rigoletto to Dietrich Gross in honor of his extraordinary generosity and service as a member of the Board of Directors from 1990 until 2022 when he was elected as a Life Director. In 2009, he was presented the Carol Fox Award recognizing his distinguished service and dedication to Lyric. He and his wife, Erika, became subscribers in the 1970s and have been a constant presence in the opera house ever since.
