How do we preserve our prized possessions against the
destructive forces of nature? The lower Mississippi River Valley
has survived a history of headline-making disasters including
Hurricane Katrina. Sarah Doerries and Jessica Dorman, editors
of the newly released book
Furnishing Louisiana
, will share
harrowing tales of disaster and heroic stories of restoration. Preservation
advice will be offered, as well as an introduction to the early Louisiana
