72 RAVINIA MAGAZINE | MAY 31, 2019 – JUNE 16, 2019 SECURITY PROCEDURES For the safety of all guests, all items brought into the park (including, without limitation, coolers, picnic baskets, bags, backpacks, and purses) are subject to search upon park entry or reentry and may be inspected again before entry into the Pavilion. A metal-detection wand or walk-through magnetometer will be used to scan patrons. Ravinia reserves the right to refuse admission to guests who refuse a security scan or search. Firearms and explo- sives are not permitted in the park, including those possessed by active or off-duty service members. SERVICE ANIMALS & ACCESSIBILITY Comfort animals and other pets are strictly prohibited from entering the park. Fully trained service animals are allowed. Visit Ravinia.org/Page/Accessibility for informa- tion about services available at the park for guests with disabilities. NO SMOKING Ravinia is a smoke-free environment. Desig- nated smoking areas are located outside the entrance gates. Use of electronic cigarettes or vapor devices is also limited to these areas. CAMERAS AND RECORDING Professional photographic or audio/video re- cording equipment is strictly prohibited at all Ravinia events and may not be brought into any facility or used during any performance. CONCERT CONTENT Ravinia does not censor or control the con- tent created by guest artists. If you have sen- sitivities to language or socio-political com- mentary, please be aware of the artists’ work before attending their performances. MEDICAL AID A nurse and physician are on duty at every performance. Contact the nearest usher or se- curity staff member in the event of a medical emergency. LOST AND FOUND Call the box office at 847-266-5100 with a de- scription of your lost item. FREE WI-FI Ravinia offers freeWi-Fi service to all guests— just connect to the “Ravinia” network. FOOD AND BEVERAGES On Ravinia’s grounds are three restaurants, two full-service bars with small-plate bites, and a grab-and-go marketplace with hot food stations and a fridge case, as well as several drink, popcorn, and ice cream carts through- out the park on many nights. In the Dining Pavilion, the Park View and Tree Top restaurants serve their microsea- sonal menus until concerts start (reservations recommended) and the Lawn Bar serves sig- nature drinks and tavern fare from its indoor and outdoor bars through intermission—see the host for a seat at a community table (no reservations!) or take it out to your spot on the Lawn. Across an observation bridge, on the rooftop of the RaviniaMusicBox Experience Center, is the BMO Club, offering not only artisanal refreshments and small plates through inter- mission, but also an open view of the Lawn from its drink rail. Guests may bring their own food and bever- ages (including alcohol, for guests 21 and old- er) for a picnic on the Lawn or build/add to a picnic at the Ravinia Market. Guests with re- served seats may leave picnic gear at the back of the venue when taking their seats. Food and beverages are not allowed in re- served seats at most concerts. Beverages are allowed the Pavilion when purchased and served in Ravinia’s lidded souvenir cup, ex- cept during classical concerts. Cups and drinks may be purchased from any restau- rant, bar, or drink cart in the park and from vendors in the Pavilion pre-concert and during intermission. The Freehling Room, connected to Bennett Gordon Hall inside the Harza Building, is a private dining club for Ravinia donors at the Opus level and above for Pavilion and Mar- tin Theatre concerts, but also features dining packages for a complete night out at many Bennett Gordon Hall concerts year-round (availability listed on concert webpages). CHAIR AND TABLE RENTAL Visit Wintrust Chair Rental just inside Ravin- ia’s gates to rent lawn chairs and tables at Pa- vilion and MartinTheatre concerts or pick up your reserved rental. Visit Ravinia.org/Page/ ChairRental/ for more information. SEVERE WEATHER Concerts take place rain or shine, but in the event of severe weather, Ravinia may delay, interrupt, or cancel a concert. During delays or interruptions, guests may seek refuge in a structure that bears a blinking green light at its entrance; that light will turn red when the structure is full. Guests will not be per- mitted to bring picnic supplies or other gear with them. In some cases, Ravinia may lead guests to refuge at nearby Braeside Elementa- ry School. Guests may also exit the park and return to their cars. Those who leave will be readmitted if and when the concert resumes. NO STREET PARKING Parking on the residential streets surround- ing Ravinia is strictly prohibited. Highland Park Police will issue fines to violators. Please keep noise to a minimum outside the park and drive safely. DROP-OFFS/PICKUPS All vehicles dropping off or picking up con- certgoers must go to one of the following parking lots. Please alert your driver. • Ravinia’s West, North, and South Parking Lots ▷ A valid Ravinia donor parking pass or hand- icap parking permit must be presented for access to the North and South Parking Lots. ▷ Inbound access is closed 30 minutes before the performance ends and resumes 1 hour af- ter the performance. ▷ Ride-share services are not permitted to pick up concertgoers in the West Parking Lot. • Braeside Metra train station (¼ mile south) • Ravinia Metra train station (½ mile north) Highland Park Police and Ravinia staff may need to redirect vehicles. Please follow their instructions. Drop-offs or pickups are not al- lowed on public streets; Highland Park Police will issue fines to drivers of violators. PARK AND RIDE Ravinia’s free and handicap-accessible shuttle bus service makes continuous round trips be- tween Ravinia and offsite parking lots before, during, and after events in the Pavilion (ex- cept Kids Concerts and dance performances). TRAIN SCHEDULE Check the video screens near the box office for the schedule of trains stopping at Ravin- ia’s main entrance (Ravinia Park) after most summer concerts. Visit Metrarail.com for complete schedules and information, includ- ing additional trains stopping at the nearby Braeside and Ravinia stations.
