PAUL CAREY, costume designer Paul Carey has created costumes for theater, opera, film, and com- mercial media. Recent operatic work includes Candide and West Side Story (Philadelphia Orchestra), The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs (Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Opera, In- diana University), Bernstein’s Mass (Ravinia Fes- tival, Philadelphia Orchestra), and Fellow Travel- ers (Lyric Opera of Chicago, Prototype Festival, Cincinnati Opera). Further opera credits include Doubt (Minnesota Opera) and productions with San Francisco Symphony, Virginia Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Central City Opera, Juilliard, Wolf Trap, UrbanArias, Caramoor, and Greenwich Music Festival. Carey was an original creative team member for the Public Theater’s “Public Works” series including The Odyssey , The Win- ter’s Tale, and The Tempest , and his theater credits also include Kansas City Choir Boy (Prototype Festival, US Tour); and productions at the Park Avenue Armory, LongWharf, A.R.T, CenterThe- atre Group, The Old Globe, Yale Rep, Playwright’s Realm, Clubbed Thumb, New York Musical Fes- tival, New York Live Arts, One Year Lease, and NYU. Upcoming engagements include designs for San Francisco Opera and Arizona Opera. AL CRAWFORD, lighting designer Al Crawford has been the lighting director for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for 22 years. Crawford is the founder of Arc3design, a lighting design group dedicated to merging his theatrical aesthetic into all areas of art, architec- ture, dance, live music, theater, broadcast, and live event production. Recent projects include Pip’s Island Off-Broadway, Bernstein’s Mass at Ravinia Festival and Philadelphia Orchestra, architectural installations at NY Central Syna- gogue, state dinners for the Obama Adminis- tration, Cedar Point’s Luminosity , Sea World’s Electric Ocean , shows for Holland America and Azamara Cruise Lines, Madison Square Gar- den Sports Entertainment, and brand events for Spotify, Google, YouTube, Samsung, Intel, Dom Perignon, and Lamborghini. Crawford is a board member of the University of North Caro- lina School of the Arts, where he earned a BFA, and the Gilbert Hemsley Lighting Programs at Lincoln Center. A recent recipient of the Knight of Illumination Award, he is a member of Unit- ed Scenic Artists (USA-829) and IATSE (Local 635). www.arc3design.com DARREL MALONEY, video designer Darrel Maloney has designed video and prejec- tions for broadcast, concerts, film, and theater. His Broadway credits include American Idiot , On Your Feet , Allegiance , The Cher Show , The Pa- risian Woman , A Night with Janis Joplin , Every- day Rapture , and The Illusionists . Off-Broadway Maloney has earned Drama Desk nominations with Found (Atlantic Theater), Checkers (Vine- yard Theater), and Tappin’ Thru Life , and he has worked on The Babylon Line (Lincoln Center Theater), Joan of Arc (Public Theater), Pretty Filthy (Civilians), Kung Fu , Golden Child (Sig- nature Theatre) The Village Bike , The Submission (MTC), Bikeman , Kansas City Choir Boy (Proto- type, A.R.T., Kirk Douglas Theater), and Karen O’s Stop the Virgens (St. Ann’s Warehouse, Syd- ney Opera). He has also designed for Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus, Surf (Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas), and Sadko (Vlaamse Opera, Ghent), as well as such venues and com- panies as Old Globe, Ahmanson/CTG, Minne- sota Opera, La Jolla Playhouse, A.R.T., Kansas City Rep, and Fifth Avenue Theater. Maloney is the founder of the design and production com- pany The 13th Studios. www.darrelmaloney.com NEVIN STEINBERG, sound designer Nevin Steinberg re- ceived the 2019 Tony Award for Best Sound Design of a Musical for Hadestown . His recent projects also include the game-changer Hamilton on Broadway, in Chicago and London, and on national tour; the cutting edge Dear Evan Hansen, and Steve Mar- tin and Edie Brickell’s Bright Star on Broadway. Steinberg serves as the audio consultant for the Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall. For Carne- gie’s Weill Music Institute, he has designed large- scale events at unusual venues, including Leon- ard Bernstein’s Mass and West Side Story , both conducted by Marin Alsop. He holds a bache- lor’s degree from Harvard College in English and American Literature and Language, and in 2011 he completed a Certificate Program in Arts Management at NYU’s School for Continuing Professional Studies. Steinberg is a trustee of the Town Hall Foundation Inc., a non-profit orga- nization dedicated to the preservation and sup- port of the Town Hall, a cultural and education center as well as a national historic landmark in the center of Times Square. RACHEL A. TOBIAS, production stage manager For the past 18 sea- sons, Rachel Tobias has managed the stage or assisted for more than 100 operas and six mu- sicals at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Since 2009, she has spent part of each summer as the lead stage manager for opera programming at Ravinia. Tobias is also a stage manager with Kehoe De- signs, located in Chicago. She has held similar stage management positions with San Francisco Opera, Michigan Opera Theater, Glimmerglass Festival, Chicago Opera Theater, and various theater companies throughout Chicago. DANIEL SOKALSKI, stage manager Returning for his third season with Ravinia, Daniel Sokalski is a stage manager from the Chicago area. This fall he returns to the Lyric Opera of Chicago for his 15th consecutive sea- son. He has worked at many of the leading opera houses in the United States.
