ERIC ROTH, conductor An internationally recognized conductor, com- poser/orchestrator/arranger, and producer, Eric Roth is the music director and arranger of A New World: Intimate Music from Final Fanta- sy , a chamber ensemble concert following up the orchestral Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy , which he also arranged music for. He most recently directed and arranged the music for the video game chamber music production Openworld , which premiered at the 2018 Momo- Con in Atlanta, and he also worked with Pat Be- natar and Neil Giraldo’s orchestra project with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in 2016. His orchestrations and arrangements have also been performed by such ensembles as the Czech and Royal Stockholm Philharmonics, San Francisco Symphony, and Baltimore, Sydney, Houston, and Seattle Symphony Orchestras. Since 2012, Roth has been the conductor and orchestrator for Five for Fighting’s live performances with orchestra, recently rearranging that music for a string quartet tour that was recorded in 2018. He has also conducted orchestras in concerts featuring such artists as Seal, Jewel, Dennis DeYoung, and Stevie Nicks, as well as perfor- mances by such ensembles as the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and Fort Worth, Utah, Caroli- na, and Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestras. In 2011, Roth was the conductor for the “Sur- prise, Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular” concert at Chicago’s United Center with guest performers Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, Usher, Kristin Chenoweth, Jamie Foxx, and Josh Groban. Roth has created original music for the harmonica and piano duo Konstantin Reinfeld and Benyamin Nuss, the documentary film Baseball’s Been Very, Very Good to Me: The Minnie Minoso Story , and the mobile application Curious George’s Dictionary, and his commis- sions for such works as Lyceum for percussion ensemble and solo recitation (Marquette and Michigan universities), The Clark Street Bridge Project for 80-plus percussionists (City of Chi- cago Department of Cultural Affairs), and Secret Cheese for the Tate Modern gallery in London.
