We look forward to walking through the gates into the park this summer! In Honor of Sandra K. Crown Sandy has always believed that “the arts are the implicit language of peace in the world, with Ravinia the shining star.” When she was chairman of the Ravinia Women’s Board, the board began to fundraise. Her children worked with the board and with her when the board started the Friendship Booth, which evolved into Ravinia’s Festival Shop. Her children chose to honor her with a very generous gift to the endowment fund, in perpetuity. This gift helps support Ravinia and will be celebrated on July 27 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performing “Broadway Today.” Ravinia was the first to highlight American Classic Music Theater, followed by the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Goodman Theatre. Our family enjoys spending summer evenings here with friends and family, and we are proud to support the efforts of the festival to present exciting concerts in such a beautiful setting. In Honor of Paul B. and Virginia L. Uhlenhop Paul and Ginny Uhlenhop began coming to Ravinia in the mid-1960s when Ginny was a music teacher at Indian Trail Elementary School. In the 1970s–80s, Ravinia became one of their favorite places to gather with friends and enjoy good music. Paul joined the Ravinia Board of Trustees in 1991 and served in that capacity for roughly 15 years. Attending Ravinia remained a central part of their summers until 2019. This year, Paul and Ginny’s family is honored to continue their support of the Ravinia performance tradition.
