Crown . NATALIA LAFOURCADE Natalia Lafourcade is a songwriter, singer, and producer from the Mexican state of Veracruz. She began writing songs at an early age, and across her nearly 20-year career, Lafourcade has been part of countless musical projects, forging a now 10-strong discography: Natalia Lafourcade (2002); Casa (2005, with her band La Forquetina); Hu hu hu (2009); Mujer Divi- na : Homenaje a Agustín Lara (2012); Hasta la Raíz (2015); Musas : Un homenaje al Folclore Latinoamericano en Manos de Los Macori- nos, Vol. 1 (2017) and Vol. 2 (2018); Un canto por México , Vol. 1 (2020) and Vol. 2 (2021); and De Todas las Flores (2022). In addition to numerous recognitions and honors from SACM (Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico) and ASCAP (American Society of Com- posers, Authors and Publishers), Lafourcade has won several international awards for her work, including fifteen Latin Grammys, three Grammy Awards, a Billboard Award, and three MTV Awards. She has been featured guest performer for multiple Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year ceremonies, including events in honor of Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Miguel Bosé, and Alejandro Sanz. In 2018 Lafourcade was a guest at the Oscars, performing the theme song from Disney/Pixar’s Coco with actor Gael García Bernal and musician Miguel, and then the fol- lowing year she appeared at the Grammy Awards singing with Aída Cuevas and Ángela Aguilar. Most recently, she performed at the GOYA awards in tribute to Carlos Saura, singing “Por qué te vas.” Although well-known for her own songwriting, Lafourcade is also an acclaimed interpreter of songs by other iconic Latin American composers and has collaborated with such artists as Juan Gabriel, Los Ángeles Azules, Omara Portuondo, Jorge Drexler, Pepe Aguilar, Leonel García, Kevin Johansen, Rubén Blades, and Devendra Banhart. For the bicentennial of Mexican inde- pendence in 2010, she made her first appearance with an orchestra, joining conductor Alondra de la Parra and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, and she has since been the guest of numerous ensembles internationally, including with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Phil- harmonic at the Hollywood Bowl in 2019 to perform her and other Latin American composers songs. Natalia Lafourcade is making her Ravinia debut.
