Ravinia 2024 Issue 5

The sun was shining, the greens were pristine, and the spirit of giving was in full swing on June 10 as Ravinia hosted its 26th annual Magic of Music Golf Benefit at the Lake Shore Country Club in Glencoe. This signature fundraising event, organized by Ravinia’s Board of Trustees, once again brought together an en- thusiastic community of sponsors and golf lovers for a day that was as enjoyable as it was impactful, raising nearly $300,000 to support Ravinia’s transformative music education programs. The day kicked off with a lively luncheon, where guests were treated to a performance by the talented Ravinia Lawndale Family Music School pianist Jhadin Beaco, setting an uplifting tone for the day ahead. Foursomes then hit the championship 18-hole course, where friendly competition and camaraderie circled back around to a spirited cocktail reception, where guests were serenaded by the soulful sounds of the Jazz Scholars, high-school student musicians in Reach Teach Play. The event concluded with culinary delights from the club’s Executive Chef, Matthew Southard, capping the day of fun-filled philanthropy. All proceeds from the event, including raffle prizes and more, directly support Ravinia’s Reach Teach Play programs, including the Lawndale Family Music School and Jazz Scholar, initiatives that ensure access to the life-changing power of live music for thousands of students and families across Chicagoland.
