“Provocative and thoughtful” is how Pantone® describes the 2018

color of the year. According to the company it is a color that

embodies individuality and spirituality and speaks of the mysteries

of the cosmos and the unknown.

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the institute, said: “We are

living in a time that requires inventiveness and imagination. It is

this kind of creative inspiration that is indigenous to Pantone 18-

3838 ultra violet, a blue-based purple that takes our awareness and

potential to a higher level.

“From exploring new technologies and the greater galaxy, to artistic

expression and spiritual reflection, intuitive ultra violet lights the

way to what is yet to come.”

Enigmatic purples have also long been symbolic of counterculture,

unconventionality, and artistic brilliance. Musical icons Prince,

David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix brought shades of Ultra Violet to the

forefront of western pop culture as personal expressions of

individuality.

In 2018 we will see designers using this bold shade of purple

in fashion, cosmetics, home décor and in weddings.

When choosing your wedding color palate ultra violet pairs

beautifully with the 2018 spring colors released for N.Y.

Fashion Week some months ago. There are fifteen beautiful

colors to combine and use with ultra violet to make you

wedding colors unique.

Using the sixteen colors that make up the spring/summer

2018 color palate your choices are limitless when using them

in combinations of two, three, four or more to make your

wedding imaginative and uniquely your own.

A dramatically provocative and

thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE

18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates

originality, ingenuity, and visionary

thinking that points us toward

the future.
