RYAN VANDENBOOM,
vocalist and dancer
Singer, dancer, and choreographer Ryan Van-
DenBoom began performing at age , taking
dance lessons in his native Michigan and start-
ing tap the following year. During his high-
school years, VanDenBoom kept busy with song
and dance in many musicals, including
Singin’
in the Rain
, where he recreated Gene Kelly’s
original choreography. He was later featured in
the premiere of an original musical,
A Shine on
Your Shoes
, written and directed by Leeds Bird
with musical direction by Kevin Cole, and is a
recent graduate of the Cap Musical
eater
program at New York University. A winner of
numerous national dance competitions, Van-
DenBoom has danced at the LA Tap Festival and
recently performed Morton Gould’s Tap Dance
Concerto with the Albany Symphony Orchestra,
dancing the original choreography by Broadway
and Hollywood legend Danny Daniels, who
personally coached VanDenBoom on the work
with the assistance of Karl Warkentein. During
the summer he regularly performs and choreo-
graphs for the Mac-Haydn
eatre, including
for such shows as
Chicago
,
Mame
,
Anything
Goes
, and
Damn Yankees
. Ryan VanDenBoom
has collaborated with Kevin Cole and Sylvia
McNair on Ravinia’s tributes to Cole Porter and
to the Gershwins the past two seasons.
