started his own series of adventure

stars, Harrison Ford, as Indiana

Jones, an archaeologist searching for

mythical, historic objects. Of course,

Spielberg reconnected with Williams

for the music, and the result was one

of the greatest movies, greatest char-

acters, and greatest themes being

created in

Raiders of the Lost Ark

. You

immediately feel like cheering for the

hero Indiana Jones when you hear his

theme, the “Raiders March”!

But while filming

Raiders

,

Spielberg began dreaming of mak-

ing another science fiction movie,

having had a lot of fun and success

a few years earlier (the same year

Star Wars

came out, in fact) with

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

,
