Well-Strung is a string quartet with a modern
twist. Comprising Edmund Bagnell ( rst vi-
olin), Christopher Marchant (second violin),
Trevor Wadleigh (viola), and Daniel Shevlin
(cello), the group juxtaposes and interweaves
universally recognized classical pieces with pop
hits from the likes of Taylor Swi , Rihanna,
Kelly Clarkson, and more—vocals included—
for a uniquely engaging experience. Conceived
by Marchant and producer Mark Cortale, the
foursome formed in
and has since gained
international attention.
ey have been invit-
ed to perform at the Vatican in Rome and at a
gala for former president Barack Obama, and
their viral music video “Chelsea’s Mom” led to
a specially requested performance for the song’s
subject— presidential candidate Hillary
Clinton. Well-Strung has performed with art-
ists such as Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick
Harris, Audra McDonald, and Deborah Voigt,
and they were the opening act for Joe Jonas and
his band DNCE at Pride Toronto.
ey have
performed twice with the San Francisco Gay
Men’s Chorus, and this December they will co-
star in two Christmas concerts at Manhattan’s
Town Hall with the New York City Gay Men’s
Chorus.
e group has earned critical acclaim
from performances at New York’s Feinstein’s/
Below and beyond, from the House of Blues in
New Orleans to the Leicester Square eatre in
